THE BRIEF

The Eclipse brand draws inspiration from the beauty and mysterious power of the eclipse. An eclipse represents a unique moment when the sun and moon merge, creating an atmosphere of magic, wonder and mystery. This concept translates into a unique artistic experience that blends elements of light and darkness, creating fascinating contrasts and bringing to life a world of surreal beauty. 

The union of opposites which, despite their differences, create an experience of awe, wonder and beauty.
• The total lunar eclipse is the starting point for our brand concept, a rare event that occurs only once every two and a half years or so at night, a moment to celebrate. 
• During a total lunar eclipse, the moon disappears, leaving a black circle in the sky outlined by the reflection of sunlight; this is precisely what represents our concept for the evening, where the DJ, from the outside, seems not to exist because they are immersed in the crowd.

Key Elements: Play of Contrasts: The entire artistic concept revolves around the contrast between light and darkness, inspired by the dynamics of an eclipse. This is reflected in the colours, shapes and textures used in the brand’s artwork. (E.g. orange/purple, green/black…)

Astral Iconography: 
Images and symbols linked to astronomy and eclipses, such as the sun, moon, stars and celestial orbits, serve as key elements in the brand’s art. These symbols can be creatively reinterpreted to convey a sense of wonder and discovery.

Emotional Expression: 
The brand’s artworks aim to evoke a powerful emotion in viewers, capturing the essence of the eclipse and conveying a sense of wonder, enchantment and contemplation.

Technological Innovation: 
The Eclipse brand also embraces technological innovation, using modern and advanced artistic techniques to create artworks that surprise and captivate contemporary audiences.

CONCEPT ONE

When it comes to musical events, it is sound waves that convey everything and evoke the sensations we experience throughout the evening. From a technical perspective, sound engineers analyse, study and shape the sound and acoustic perfection that resonates within us—starting precisely from this ‘waveform’—thereby gifting us with memories and emotions that can change our lives. 

Those who work with sound, as well as knowing every graphic vibration and every oscillating mark on a grid down to the smallest detail, are able to read like an open book all the details contained within a form so complex and so different from sound to sound. And it is precisely thanks to this ability to interpret that, just as a writer has letters as their best friend, a sound engineer has the waveform as their best friend. 

Based on these two factors, a logo was created to unite the two fundamental concepts of the idea: the eclipse and the waveform, accompanied by a bespoke font designed specifically to give the brand character and uniqueness.




CONCEPT TWO

When creating the “ECLIPSE” logo and brand, I drew particular inspiration from the Polish brand MISBHV, which literally translates as “misbehave”. Its minimalist style, evident in both the fonts and the shapes, combined with the grungy look of the images, immediately conveys a unique style that is indifferent to criticism, just like the philosophy of living life without limits or preconceptions.

A unique style that, without overcomplicating things, also evokes the minimalist musical environment in which it is set, giving rise to a brand and an image that is simple yet instantly recognisable.
